DÉMIRA (Démira Jansen) is a songwriter, music producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist: she sings, plays electric/western/spanish guitar, panduri, synthesizers and works with elektronica and (new) sound technologies. She took part in the TV show De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland (The Best Singer-Songwriter of The Netherlands) at the age of 16. After neurological problems as a teenager, producing became a new means of catharsis. She started working with Electric Lady Studios in New York City in her early twenties. She played shows at festivals and clubs throughout New York, Norway, The Netherlands, Malta, Sweden and Germany. Besides her own project, she composes music for theatre (Het Achtste Leven, Kind of Human), works on music for series and film (Riviera, The Athena), and she also writes songs for other artists in various genres.
